Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has been championing sustainability for many years. In 2019 they declared a Climate Emergency, and in 2020 adopted the Climate Emergency Plan. This plan sets a net zero community emissions target by 2040, with 7 summits and 21 action steps to reach this ambitious goal. The Shire is proactively supporting the community in achieving energy efficiency, renewable energy, circular economy, climate resilience outcomes, as well as much more. Sustainability is a primary strategic focus and informs all aspects of delivering services and programs to the community, to ensure that future generations are protected.
The Supply Chain Sustainability School offers its employees, contract partners and community an opportunity to learn and develop their sustainability skills, and move forward rapidly on their journey to addressing the Climate Emergency.
