Environmental Management

Environmental issues such as waste, water, carbon, and biodiversity have their own designated e-modules available on this site.
All these specific issues require a systematic management approach in the construction and infrastructure industry. This is to be legally compliant, as well as meet the requirements placed upon us by our stakeholders, and local, state, and federal governments.

An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a framework used to help organisations deal with the environmental issues they encounter. It also facilitates legal compliance, identifies material impacts and how to mitigate their associated risks.

The international standard ISO 14000 - Environmental Management suite addresses various aspects of environmental management, with ISO 14001 - Environmental Management Systems - Requirements with Guidance for Use and ISO 14004 - Environmental Management Systems - General Guidelines on Principles, Systems and Support Techniques focusing on EMS.
